Genuine Ford AC System Parts
Ford vehicles typically feature an air conditioning system that helps provide comfort to passengers by regulating the temperature inside the cabin. The AC system has many parts that work together to cool and dehumidify the air.
For example, the compressor is the heart of the AC system. It is typically driven by a belt connected to the engine's crankshaft. The compressor's primary function is to compress and circulate refrigerant gas, which is important in transferring heat from the cabin to the outside.
The condenser acts as a heat exchanger. It receives high-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant gas from the compressor and cools it by dissipating heat to the outside air. The cooled refrigerant then transforms into a high-pressure liquid.
The evaporator is usually located inside the dashboard, behind the instrument panel. It acts as another heat exchanger and cools the cabin air. The high-pressure liquid refrigerant from the condenser enters the evaporator through an expansion valve. As the air from the cabin passes over the evaporator's fins, the liquid refrigerant absorbs heat, causing it to evaporate and turn into a low-pressure gas.
